these are my own evaluation and translation of the infamous singapore drivers HORN... let beh beh.. honk honk.. to to..
Honk: Single Short Honk
Common Usage: Common use to warn other road users that you are not about to give way; call someone you do not know; male drivers trying to attract some voluptuous gals.
Skill Set: hit onto the horn just enough to produce audible 'honk' and allow the spring in the horn to repel your hand.
Honk: Twin Honk
Common Usage: Warn others that you are not about or not in the mood to give way; also see common usage of Single Short Honk; commonly inthechangeable with Single Short Honk
Skill Set: Repeat Single Short Honk Twice.
Honk: Triplet Honk
Common Usage: Redundant Honk set; share same definition with Twin Honk.
Skill Set: Repeat Single Short Honk three times (smart ass)
Honk: Single Short Honk followed by Medium Long Honk (sound like, Beh! Behhhh !)
Common Usage: Warning to the car that thought you are giving way but you think otherwise; signalling to the car in front that the red light has turn green when the driver is still trying to recover from his hang over.
Skill Set: Single Short Honk then Hit on the horn for about 0.5 seconds before releasing it.
Honk: Seven Short Honk (sounds like, Beh! Beh! Beh! Beh-Beh! Beh! Beh!)
Common Usage: Used most commonly by Ah Bing calling out to Ah Lian; or those who like the whole world to know that they just bought a new car.
Skill Set: (musical background recommended).. yeah.. you know it.. repeat..
Honk: Long Horn (sounds like, Behhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh)
Common Usage: Used by impatient drivers against whoever that do not give way to him, (example: cuts into your lane without signalling)
Skill Set: Hit onto the Horn and release it only after you hit the lamp post/tree or anything that stops the car, the other driver gives way or after you did not get what you want. (also see "Headlight techniques").
Honk: Medium Long Honk followed by excessive long horn
Common Usage: Used by drivers that mutanted from short temper and impatience. Often accompanied by universal greeting finger and mumbling of mouth. Used against drivers who do not give way to you.
Skill Set: see Medium Long Honk and follow by using the right hand (left hand on the gear.. just in case) to hit-hold onto the horn, only release after you have include self-styled gesture greetings, when the other driver respond by calling police and jotting hown your car number, anything that stops you (also see. "Traffic Police")
Honk: Excessive Long Honk (sounds like, beh x infinity)
Common Usage: after the car bang into a tree, railing, another car or cars. Usage not restricted to gender and character of drivers though shorter drivers may face difficulties.
Skill Set: after banging into a tree with car total scrap.. faint or turn unconscious with perfect alignment to the horn, rest on it till the fire fighers drag you out of the car.
