[ End of World Cup 2002 ]

Brazil had just won its 5th World Cup... & the hero was who else but Ronaldo... his 2 goals against Germany also made him the tournament's top scorer... think he may have the chance to be named the tournament's best player too... anyway congrats to him & Brazil... I would say tat this year's World Cup has been a wonderful event... now the football addicts will have to look forward to the next major soccer event which is the European Championship... to be held in 2004 in Portugal I think... hope tat either France or England will win this trophy... hehe...

As for my boring life... ok... had a not so boring weekend this week... Fri nite was spent with close friends like Roy, Shili, Lava & Zoc on pool... it has been long since we gathered for pool hence my skills sort of deterioriate... but only for the first game... haha... after tat was the usual daohui break... Met up with a sec sch friend Ling for the movie "The Eye" on Sat... it was quite terrifying I think... judging from the amount of screams in the cinema... should be worse than "Dark Waters "& "The Ring"... I can remember Ling grabbing my hand & "jumping" towards me when the horrible scenes appear... haha... then there was this group of guys... & one of them was quite scared I think... he kept on blaming his friends for watching this show... & jerked very violently during one scene... haha... it was nice meeting Ling again after like bout 6 years? haha... was playing mahjong today at Seer's place with Cirrus & Viz... Viz was the big winner this time surprisingly... haha... to think tat he still brought $20 worth of 50 cents coins... cos he said tat he was prepared to lose... haha...

well... 2 more weeks to sch reopening... have to find stuffs to occupy myself... *looks at the pile of VCDs & games borrowed from friends*

yes i am still alive.. and for a moment.. the blogger interface is somewat unfamilar.. ah.. that's how long i've post.. and thanks to Dan, who had keep it going.. hehehe.. so.. wat am i up with? lotsa of stuffs naturally.. so much that i'm almost choked off any other thing enjoyable in life..

ok.. i was just interrupted by a phone call.. some technical stuffs.. but everything goes well..

so, life has been rather well on me i guess.. busy as usual at work.. no time for RC at all.. (good news).. hehehe.. and my Liz is still loving me. *mushy*.. talking about Liz.. tomolo is our anniversary.. heheh.. and by this time i'm typing.. we have not been talking to each other for 2 days!!!.. not that we quarrel, but she is staying over at her friend's house.. forgetting about my existence.. hahahah..

[ World Cup Final: Germany vs Brazil ]

We are finally nearing the end of World Cup 2002... where Germany will take on Brazil in the final match to be held this Sunday... Brazil won the other semi-final 1-0 just now... with the solitary goal coming from a Ronaldo toe-poke... sigh... the 2 underdogs for the semis did not manage to pull off an upset... to add on to the number of upsets tat we had already seen during some of the World Cup matches... sigh...

btw... where has Viz hidden himself? *looks into toilet bowl*

wat should I do for the next 3 days where there are no more matches to watch?

[ South Korea's Fairy Tale Ends ]

Thats it... South Korea's dream of creating another history had been dashed after losing 1-0 to Germany in the World Cup Semi-Final... they tried their best but cannot find their way past the Berlin defensive wall & their superb goalkeeper Oliver Kahn... Michael Ballack was the hero as he scored a left foot winner off a rebound after his initial right foot shot was blocked by the Korean keeper... too bad he is going to watch the Final at the stands after getting booked during the match...

So who is gonna win tomolo's other semi-final between Brazil & Turkey? Will Samba soccer rule over the Turks? or will the turkeys finish up the sambal?

Ok... now for some updates bout me... hehe... went town for a movie with a friend on Sunday... followed by a small dinner over at Sakae Sushi... a very long walk then brought us to our "daohui" break... before I "forced" her to take a bus home... hehe... if you are reading this... sorry for the horrible experience on the bus ride home... (the rest of u better not think crooked... hehe) its all my fault... never expected tat... hehe... well at least u got me with ya rite? haha... :Þ

[ Cosmic Bowling ]

Cineleisure have a bowling alley? Really didnt noe tat till today... hehe... abit mountain tortoise I think... celebrated my NTU friend's 21st bdae there just now... the function room was booked & we also had free bowling lanes for a certain duration... & I must say I had an eye opener during the bowling session... maybe I am being a mountain tortoise again but it was really quite cool... this is how "Cosmic Bowling" goes for those who are mountain tortoises like me... firstly the lights are slowly being shut off... neon lights start to appear... techno music begin to roll... the bowling balls begin to glow... & whola the whole bowling alley looks so cool... esp when u see the glowing balls hitting the pins at high speeds... I think it is a nice spectacle & good place to hang out even if you are not into bowling... maybe I am exagerrating... hehe...

time to start studying my bets more closely for the semi-finals... hehe...

alright... history is being made... South Korea is the first Asian country to go into the semi-finals of the World Cup after winning 5-3 on penalties against Spain... congrats to them... they deserve to win with their awesome speed & attacking football which made the match an enjoyable & exciting one to watch... not to forget they help me to win some money too.. haha... hmm... maybe they can go all the way to create another history by being the first Asian country to go into a World Cup final or even winning it?

okie... have to get myself ready to go for my friend's 21st birthday party soon... wun be able to watch the last quarter final match... sigh... hopefully tat someone will remember to update me on the scores... Go Senegal go... hehe...

yup.. stillll in the office.. hahah.. happily. why? i just watched the World Cup match.. Germany against USA.. right in the office along with my collegues.. kinda cool. but it sure add lots of fun when there are some form of prophecy made before the match.. haha.. well of course.. i got one miss one.. hope no one taken my prediction for bet. hehehe.

Oh no... there goes England... none of the teams tat I support are in the World Cup anymore... maybe I should change to South Korea this time... cos its an Asian country... hehe... so I guess my first prediction was not tat accurate... hehe... but but... I am still quite happy even though England lost... haha... mixed feelings I guess... during the last 10 mins I was even rooting for Brazil to hold on to its 2-1 scoreline... all becos I also betted on 3 goals... & the odds are greater than an England win... haha... traitor... will be going to place my bets for the next 2 quarter final matches later... maybe I should try Viz's predictions? haha...

[ Price Hike ]

yes, apart from Italy is OUT of World Cup.. singapore's hot topic would be the recent price hikes. public transport.. parking.. GST.. ERP.. wat not.. citizens are critising the government.. PAP and some Council on their plight.. but all round down to the same ball game everytime.. four words, "Shut Up! and Follow"..

it may seems that i'm complaining about the government.. but strangely, i'm not. Yes, i'm tired of communism (read as "demoratic" in Singapore dictionary).. i'm tired to price hikes (read as "evidently".) but i'm not complaining .. so now you may ask why.. Simple. Singapore ruling party has given us enough warning.. and for those who still do not see the obvious light.. you are on the way to deep shit..

Still dun geddit? ok.. here goes..

Hint One: Singaporean has to keep on upgrading to keep up with the competition from importing foreign talent in a place we call home. (just how often we do that in our home.. i dunno)

Hint Two: Increase cost of public transport because we have to get use to price hike. So let us start small.

Hint Three: Increase of GST, but poor family will be taken care of. (a.k.a : I give you $1, so that it will be less painful to take back $3.)

Hint Four: Increase numbers of ERP gantries so that everyone will be obviously encouraged to take the jet up public transport.

The country that we call home is placing its very own citizens on par with the competition that comes in internally. Who need singaporean anymore for gaining prosperity for the country?? .. any foreign talent is better than our own people..funny why other countries appreciate us more.. we have to realised that the government is not going to spoon feed us anymore.. So, dun complain and whine like a kid when we dun get wat we want and get wat we dun want.

It is an era where survival is solely based on our performance and not citizenship. we are just employees of a Multi-National Company called Singapore. all we talk about are oversea investments, getting the foreign talents, increase competitiveness, increase tax.. those who want to survive must continue to upgrade ourselves till 55 years old and take our CPF (a.k.a: Pension).. and let alone rot to death.

So, forget and stop all our complains of daily policies.. channel that effort to do something more worthwhile or work up that management ladder than to to argue over something that wouldn't work or change. the decision making is always with the "management" (a.k.a.: governement) .. and not the "employees" (a.k.a: Singapoean).. those working will definitely agree with me.

[ Slower than a tortoise... Damn ]

I was damn pissed off during the registration of subjects for next sem in the afternoon... cos my PC connection was so damn slow... so slow tat I took 30 mins to be able to log in... the page was loading at so slow a rate tat my time at the NTU website was even exceeded... without me even doing anything yet... & this resulted in all the good slots being snatched away by the other faster predators... now my timetable is in a mess... from a planned 3 days week... now I have a 5 days week... grr... & its only 4 subjects... I will just be going to sch everyday to attend one subject... last sem I had a 4 days week for 6 subjects... grr... I really nearly vomitted blood just now... thinking of it now makes my blood boiling again... grr... damn...

so wat can I do? hope tat there are some kind hearted souls who will drop these precious slots during the 2nd stage of registration & during the add-drop period... pray for me folks... & for the computer not to fail me again when I need its cooperation the most... sigh...

[ Final Year ]

Will be entering my final year of study starting from July... a total of 7 more subjects to clear... 4 this sem... 3 next sem... not to forget the Final Year Project tat last throughout the year... hmm... it had been quite a fast 2 years in NTU... could still remember the days when I just ORDed from army... being a freshie in sch... the experience of staying in hostel... knowing new friends... etc etc... my overall results suxs... & the chances of me getting an honours are as little as Singapore getting into the World Cup... hehe...

got to start preparing for the battle of snatching timeslots for my timetable soon... adieos all...

yes, that is why i did not post for the past few days.. got my screws and nuts re-aligned during my last three days at Rivera Resort. along with me were good friends like, Lava, Vogue, Su and none other than Dan. i believe we enjoyed the trip tremenously desipte of the initial sucky hiccup.. hahaha. saving the details.. just put it as.. avoid A' Fomosa Resort, it was the reason why we relocate to Riveria which is 45mins of driving distance apart.

ok, back to singapore, what's next?.. WORK! .. hahaha.. tomolo is Monday and like any other working soul.. i'll be back to work to the still familar office and computers.. lotsa of stuffs to catch up due to the trip.. believe that it will be a very busy day tomolo.

i was into a mode of reflection, looking back at what have i done for the past few weeks/months in the name of building career.. am i doing my best from work?.. do i still work with zest and spirit? i'm i focus and resolute? do i find excuses for not working? do i slack at work?.. one thing most obvious to me is that i'm abusing my rights and privileges as a System Administrator to betray the trust that my company and boss showered on me. as guilty as charged.. this website.. it is park on my company's domain.. not to mention the occasionally downloading of MP3s, playing online games, running personal errants and etc during office hours.. using company's resources.

where are all my principles, ethnics and sense of responsbility? where are all my determination to strive and do better when i'm submitting myself to temptations? who am i to blame if i lose my job? How am i going to lead my staffs in the future? sighhh.. a mode of reflection dug up so many unwanted behaviors which were once what i'm most against it. painful.. yes but essential.

woke up ard 12pm today... just like usual days... got a shock when I looked at my HP... 3 missed calls & 2 messages... it was my good friend Vincent in NTU who was trying to inform me tat results were out one day earlier & asked me to check... congrats to him... cos he got his best results ever since he entered NTU... All As & Bs... he is a hardworking person so he deserves these grades... although he doesnt look like one of the hardworking ones... haha... congrats also to his gf Denise... who finally got her first A... 2 in fact... lastly... congrats to my dearest C Mei for getting all As... very happy for her too... hmm... time for u to fulfill your part of the bargain... haha...

wat bout me then? well... still did not manage to get my first A... *sigh*... nor my first T... *phew* ... got exactly the results tat I predicted... they are all average grades... just wat I deserve for the amount of work put in... abit sad now...

[ United We Stand ]

had been trying to catch all the soccer matches tat were shown on Malaysian channel TV1... but my dear mum was always fighting with me for the valuable timeslots... & I do not have SCV... anyway not all the matches are being shown live so I missed some of the more exciting ones... not wanting to miss another one... I decided to search for a kopitiam tat shows the matches through SCV... when I reached there all the seats were taken up so the poor me have to stand... together with lotsa uncles... ah pehs... banglas... hehe... quite crowded... looking ard I could only see 2 females among the 30 over crowd... one of them accompanying her bf which I feel is very sweet of her... another was accompanying her husband... as the match went on... u can sense the togetherness among the crowd... the screaming of goal... the swearing of referee & missed opportunities... the middle finger pointing... all these were part & parcel when many guys get together & watch a soccer match... hehe... nearly witnessed an ugly scene too... cos there was this punk who tried to take a chair away from an uncle who was abit drunk... the uncle shouted at the punk & both of them stared at each other... after tat the punk went off & the uncle followed suit... dunno wat happened after tat... hehe...

so overall its quite a fun experience at the kopitiam... except the standing part... leg pain... hehe...

What else can be the subiject right? yes! the heat is on.. so hot that i can feel the intense heat wherever i go.. in the office, at home, along the streets.. wah! everywhere. hahaha.. well, i'm definitely not a fan but this time round.. i wonder if you guys notice any difference..

i believe that because of the the legalised betting of soccer, man are not the only species that craze over 11 other men and 1 ball. The rules of the game have changed.. woman discussed about soccer, exchanging tips, getting excited over losing/winning money.. hahah.. watching world cup with boyfriend is no longer a boring committment.. but a sharing of common interest. hahaha..

i've learnt a few tricks from my bro, Roy about how to bet.. not that i want to.. but i just have to learn how, so as to relate to the people around me.. hahah.. its not a skill.. but the language of the month.

i'm rather busy these days.. no doubt about it.. much of my time was spent in front of my notebook, juicing out proposals and quotations, thinking of new way to sell our products, taking charge of accounts and stocks.. blah blah blah.. so many things and yet.. only one pair of hands.. lucky lava is always there to help me out in terms of the office's daily (irritating) calls.. technical consulting.. will not be imagining dying without this pair of hands.. hahaha.. :) .. let hope that he can continue to assist me as much as possible .. heheh

sometimes in the middle of the night.. i will start to float above my body *spooky*.. and look at myself as a third party.. i start to notice how much smile and expressions have i lost as compared to those days studying.. it was not that i'm sad or unhappy about things.. but my facial expressions just dun allow me to smile.. i'm turning mono-faced. hahaha
